Running alongside Lerd
Joppa and Lerd both want ports 80 and 443: how Joppa detects it and hands over in either direction.
Lerd also serves .test sites on ports 80 and 443. The two can’t serve at the same time: you have to turn one off to use the other. Joppa takes care of it.
What Joppa does
- When the proxy starts, if Lerd’s nginx holds the ports, the banner offers Stop Lerd and start.
- Settings › Lerd (only visible if Lerd is installed) shows who has the ports and offers:
- Stop Lerd and start Joppa;
- Hand back to Lerd: Joppa stops its proxy and restarts Lerd.
Stopping Lerd stops its containers (nginx, PHP-FPM, services), but not its DNS resolution: your .test domains keep pointing to your machine.
